Entering November:)

Here's a Thought for This Week:

"If you truly believe the great mission of our Heavenly Father is to exalt and glorify His children and that He knows best how to do it—doesn’t it make sense to embrace and follow His commandments, even the ones that appear difficult? Should we not cherish the light posts He has given that guide us through the darkness and the trials of mortality? They mark the way back to our heavenly home! By choosing Heavenly Father’s path, you lay a divine foundation for your personal progress … that will bless you throughout your life."

For Sara's "Happy News" in Relief Society today she shared, "only 5 more weeks until I get my husband back:)!"  I know this has been a hard time for her - and for him - and although I am very grateful that the timing worked in a way to allow us to be of some help, I know everyone is looking forward to getting "back to normal:)"  I think it is hard to have other people in your home for extended periods of time and am glad she has put up with us so nicely:).

Today we taught the next-to-last lesson in our temple preparation class; I feel the bishop was so inspired to have us teach it...we have learned so very much and I appreciate the greater understanding that it has brought to both of us.  I think it would be a wonderful way for anyone to rethink their temple experiences and learn ways to enrich and deepen those experiences, as well as a wonderful way to help others to prepare for their first visit to the temple.  If anyone is interested you can go to lds.org, enter "Endowed From On High Temple Preparation Seminar" in the search bar and you can download the teacher's manual; you should also have a copy of the booklet "Preparing to Enter the Holy Temple" - altho I am sure you can download that as well.  I just bookmarked the teacher's manual and when I am typing up notes for our class I just go there and the very nice thing is that it opens for you any quotes, scriptures, etc. so you can read them immediately.  It is a wonderful course and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to study it.  There are only 7 lessons, so it is not a lengthy thing and not too impossible to fit into a busy schedule, doing maybe only 15 minutes at a time:).  (That's the FlyLady thing coming out in me again:)  We have planned a class visit to the temple on Saturday, the 22nd of November, then will gather for our last class that Sunday.  In the meantime we are thinking we will go up to South Jordan for a Sunday or two alternating with the ward here, just to get to know people there a little better.

It has been a busy week as usual...trying to think back to what all we did I find it hard to remember details.  John Bullinger did give me a call, which I appreciated very much.  He sounded good and seems to be doing well at school.  Christine called me on another day and they were in the car going to pick up someone (maybe Melissa?) so I got to visit a little with her.  Don't remember any calls from Jim - I apologize if it is just bad memory at this point - I think Dad talked with Steve some, but can't be sure or give details there, and I think I visited with Charlotte becaue of her birthday.  You may all give up on me if I can't remember anything anymore:(.  Dad helped Mary to find a car - She bought one, a Honda Fit.  Never heard of it? - well, we invite you to investigate:).  She got a really good price, practically the same as used ones are selling for, and she even ended up with the color she liked a lot, which is a blue.  Yes, she has to make payments on it, but all in all it was a very good deal, which she and Dad managed through the USAA car buying service.  It all turned out well and it is comforting to know she is not without a car any more:).  I think the search for Mary kind of motivated Dad to start looking more in earnest for a car for Sara...but she wants a used one for about $5000 so that may be a little trickier...but Dad is actively working on it now.

Emily and Adam are taking a vacation for a week...left last night for Guatamala.  Got a text this morning letting me know they had arrived safely.  Apparently they will be able to get texts while gone, so that is nice to be able to stay in touch at least a little.  I am going to try calling Eli (and Rose) tomorrow...we'll see how well that works:)!

I can't think of much news, so this will be short...maybe I will put in birthdays and anniversaries below.  That might be fun.  I have had a hard time getting my cards/gifts done on time but hope everyone will be forgiving:).  We are mostly focused on trying to do the things needed here and to work on unpacking the house in South Jordan.  One step and at time.  It was nice to sleep a little longer this morning:).  Weather has been wonderfully calm, but looks like we might have a little snow tonight.  Guess that is inevitable - but I'm sure we will survive.  Love to all - hope some of you are reading these little blogs...no one answered my plea on the last one about how to set up another blog.  So if anyone does read this and CAN help me with that, it would be most appreciated:)!!!
