Time really flies. We've been home a week and it has been a very busy one. As hinted in my e-mail question, there is a possibility that we will have a sort of school downstairs starting in January. Possibly not though, too. Things are just in the idea and "can we really figure this out" stage. But I have to say that Wednesday was one of the best days I have experienced in probably several years: Suzanne and her sister-in-law were riding horses (Sid & Pepper), Brother Garvin and his wife were in the mudroom grinding wheat with my wheat grinder, and I was in the basement discussing this school possibility with two other moms - with a baby in the room to cuddle, a toddler playing with the toys, and a wonderful young man (4th or 5th grade-ish) exploring outside, having a wonderful time (and regularly bringing us strawberries to nibble from the strawberry bed). It all felt so wonderful; I have missed you all and the activity you brought to our home and land so very much.
Conference yesterday and today was wonderful; I felt like Richard G. Scott was talking just to me... but then I heard another person say exactly the same thing. I guess he was talking to all of us; I hope you were able to see and hear it too. Today brought tears however - first when they were singing "I'm trying to be like Jesus" - remembering my children singing that for the talent show for the Douglas County Christian Homeschoolers - and missing you. Then again as President Monson was talking about the changes in our lives and how hard they can be - and how lonely we can be as we have to let go of all the familiar and warm things of the past. I know that change is supposed to happen and I know you are all doing very well and I am so very proud of you and so grateful to have had our time together... I just need to "Get on with my life" as quoted in a talk from the last conference:)! Maybe this school thing will be a part of that... who knows.
Love you all and hope you have a GREAT week,
Love, Mom O
Aww, I'm glad it was such a good day! Conference really was great--thinking I should go sign up for the church magazines so we'll get the conference issue . . . lot of really good talks in there. Love you!
