Had to put those numbers up - this date doesn't come very often:)! We are headed homeward from visiting Charlotte and Seth this weekend. Wanted to be able to stay for at least one more day, but have to be in court tomorrow afternoon, so Dad wanted to be sure we are home for that. It was so fun to visit with Charlotte and Seth - and they have a wonderful, beautiful dog! She is so well behaved and so smart... almost makes me want to try for a dog again... but then, if we want to visit with all of you, it isn't exactly fair to leave the dog on its own so often... Ah well. We were very happy that the predicted rainfall (3 to 5 inches) only came to a little over 2 inches and that the flood watch was lifted for their area:). Also, it was kind of special to attend their stake conference today - as well as a baptism for a young man of 14. Many thanks for those opportunities, the fun games and the great food... Charlotte has a great recipe for a really good chicken and rice dish that you might ask her to share!
I am blogging because I don't feel that I have heard from most of you very much this past week... so could you please blog back and let us all know what you are up to? That would be so VERY much appreciated! I was especially sad not to get any updates on Eli - even though I know his mom and dad are very busy... We DID hear that Jim and Jeanie have been told they will be having a BOY... and that the due date may be earlier than was predicted before. So - we are hoping for an update on that front!
Dad had a fun retirement barbeque at work last week and a nice dinner with just a few of his closest associates last Wednesday night. The food was great, but what impressed me the very most was how he took the opportunity to share with those now in charge how those who have worked with him have come up through RFP and the great contribution each of them has made to the company and to Dad's work with the company. I know it was unexpected - and it was really special. You all have a great Dad:)! He also shared some of his fun gifts - including his new Aston Martin DB-9 (model), his "legend" T-shirt, retiree parking permit, and jokes from his retirement book - thank you Christine:) - it was a very nice evening. Alan Ford and a couple of the others said some very nice things about dad too. So now he is retired. Except he spent a goodly number of hours at the company on Monday clearning his computer stuff - and he hasn't turned in his keys yet:)! I should also say Thank You to Emily & Adam for the night at the coast - which we have to put into the calendar, but will be such a fun thing to do:)!
We have a busy week ahead - lots to do to be ready to leave a week from tomorrow for Utah! Looking forward so very much to seeing those of you in Utah...and I hope the winter weather holds off until we are through with our travels!!!
Please blog back!
Love to all,
Mom O & Grandma
