Sunday, Sept. 9th

OK - I made up my mind to write something each week...and here I am, it is past time for bed, 5:00 a.m. comes just way too soon...but.  Thursday and Friday were taken up with trying to arrange for the needs of a surprise senior couple - visa waiters going to Mexico but needing an apartment and all the living stuff.  Elder Oliphant & I gathered up a lot of it Friday morning before going in to the office, then Elder Oliphant and Elder Wels went out and gathered up some furniture for the unfurnished apartment in Klamath Falls that President Young decided to send them to; all the stuff went into one of the mission trucks that they are taking down with them.  It is a 4 person truck, so has a very small bed, which they packed to the nth degree.   Elder Wels and Elder Oliphant met them at the airport, brought them to the office and we all had a Subway sandwich lunch together.  Later, we led them to their motel (near Gateway mall) and then brought the truck home to our garage for the night. Saturday morning we went back to the motel with the truck (& our Prius), then led them back to the office to meet with the president.  We stayed around and did a little work, then said goodbye to them.  Dad called tonight and they are doing fine...they made it to KF and missionaries there have helped them move in and get settled.  After all of that stuff I realized I never remembered something else that needed to have been done Friday because we are headed to Roseburg tomorrow for a day of doctor's and dentist appointments...so we went back to the office this evening after eating and I got that done.

We spoke in Sacrament meeting today...me on the Plan of Salvation - which sounded like a really difficult thing to make a talk of when I was given it.  However, somehow the Lord gave me thoughts and ideas that ended up being a pretty good talk.  Part of it referred to the video link that I e-mailed out to family earlier today - the Hubbell telescope Ultra Deep Space.  Hope people have taken time to watch it...and ponder the implications:).  I have to quit - and try to head for bed.  I'm putting the video link here in case you missed it by e-mail.  Don't know if it works from a blog or not, but you can always just put the web address into your computer.

What happens when you point the Hubble Space Telescope to a seemingly blank patch of sky? A view that takes you ... line of sight. Also see Hubble Deep Field ...

Oops, I almost forgot to say what Dad's topic was...Sharing the Gospel.  Hmmm.  He did a great job.  Lots of positive comments from ward members - and requests for pass-along cards & discussion booklets.  We were very happy with the outcome.  Now on to the new week....
