Greetings from Utah. We are staying busy and doing well. Payton is becoming more and more adventurous. If she gets out the door for even a minute she takes off down the road faster than you would believe. Being barefoot on a gravel driveway doesn't slow her down one bit. I, on the other hand, have to stop and put my shoes on before I can go chase her down. Her favorite things in the whole world are her dada and her doggie - and she screams with excitement when she sees either one.
Abby loves being a girlie girl. She wants her hair in curlers almost every night and would paint her nails three times a day if I would let her. Thanks to a sticker chart she is finally staying in her own bed at night (wish I would have done that sooner). She told me the other day that when she grew up she would probably marry Payton because "she's my best baby." She may not understand marriage very well but at least she loves her sister, most of the time.
Abby had a rough night last night. We decided to rent a movie to watch as a family and I picked Marley and Me. An out of control dog seemed like something even the kids could enjoy. I didn't know at the end of the movie the dog dies. Abby was sobbing inconsolably. She asked me at least 15 times why the dog died and nothing I said calmed her down at all. She told me to "NEVER get that movie again" and kicked me out of her bed so she could cry in peace. Someone else can pick the movie next time...
Patrick hurt his back and was laid up for a few days but he is getting a little better and is back to doing some of his work.
Hope everyone is doing well. We love you.
Thank so much for blogging:)! It is wonderful to hear how things are going for you... but I am so sad that Abby is having such a hard time with things dying. Maybe I should send you our video of "My turn on earth" - what do you think? Hope Patrick is feeling ALL better now and that you have a GREAT week!

Might not want to get All dogs go to Heaven! Chris made Rachel cry this week as he told her had a surprise for her out in the calf pen when we got home - it was a baby deer he "rescued" while we were in Billings. Unfortunately, while it seemed better at lunch when he told us, it was dead by the time we got home and Rachel found it. Well, at least he tried! Might want to get Abby an ant farm or something like that to get more used to things dying so its not so traumatic. Pick something with a short life and not easy to get too attached too. Hope Patrick make a full and speedy recovery. Good luck! Christine
ReplyDeleteMarley and Me suprised me too--had no idea that it ended on such a sad note!
