Thoughts for the Week:
"We will all face fear, experience ridicule, and meet opposition. Let us—all of us—have the courage to stand for principle. Courage, not compromise, brings the smile of God's approval. Courage becomes a living and an attractive virtue when it is regarded not only as a willingness to die manfully but also as the determination to live decently. As we move forward, striving to live as we should, we will surely receive help from the Lord and can find comfort in His words."
Thomas S. Monson, "Be Strong and of a Good Courage"
"You can be a great model, an average one, or a bad model. You may think it doesn't matter to you, but it does to the Lord."
Henry B. Eyring, "The Priesthood Man"

Notes for the week just past:
6/2/14 Monday - got up early and got a good start to the day, then got delayed by a technical problem with the leveling jacks, but had fun visiting with Christi and kids. Finally got all loaded up and headed out to their feedlot 10 miles down the road to see their ponies and the baby. Cute foal! Guess it was about 11 am when we finally got on the road. But - we have the whole day to get where we’re going...so that is good:).
We took the whole day:). Pulled into Rock Springs and stayed at the KOA just outside of town. Big Camping park - very desert-like and barren, but the grounds were flat and spacious - lots of room for pulling in and out. Glad to have the hook ups so we could kind of clean up, take showers (next morning) and get a little re-organized for this part of our trip:).
Tuesday: My heart and mind are turned toward Adam and Emily and his family today for the funeral. Wish so very much we could be there and help in some small way. May the Lord bless them, each and every one.
For all our years of visiting Wyoming, we have never seen it so green, so beautiful and so much water flowing in the rivers and streams. I think Brigham Young must have come through at a time like this to tell our forbears to come out here and settle it:). It has really been a beautiful and scenic drive. We stopped in Green River for a short visit with Jennifer Johnson Lords; she and her family have lived here for about 9 months and it was so fun to connect and to meet them all and see where they live. I would like to know the history of that town - you would never guess it was there from a distance and you would wonder why in the world anyone would put a town there!
We just came through Heber City and are about 23 miles from Provo, then of course Payson:). Looking forward to seeing everyone here!!!
Sunday 6/8: Had a fun but too quick visit with Sara and family as we prepared to leave for Georgia at the end of the week. On Friday we drove up to Provo and met Mary at her house (a nice little brick house in a nice neighborhood - oops, guess I shouldn’t call it little because it has 5 bedrooms:)... Then she drove us to the airport in our Prius before heading back to work. We took the Travel Scoot with us, first time to use it in an airport, and it was wonderful in SLC. Still mostly wonderful when we arrived in Atlanta, but it was a lot harder there to find our way around as we tried to get to baggage claim and outside to meet Steve. If the Travel Scoot went on escalators we probably would have been a little faster; finding those elevators and then figuring out how to make them work proved to be a challenge...but we finally succeeded:)! So glad to hook up with Steve and be headed home to see Holly and Anslee. Holly is the epitome of an organized mother - house is beautiful and Anslee is being so well taken care of. Not much need for help here on her part but hopefully Dad can give Stephen a hand with several things he wanted done. They fixed some faucets last night:). Working on a car somewhat today to decide exactly what to order to fix it...not sure how that is going as I have been napping.
Was so happy to hear from Jim and Jeanie on Friday night that they had been to the temple and were able to do a lot of temple work with the family names I had sent them, including sealing Grandma and Grandpa Oliphant as well as some relatives of Jeanie's:)! Good work Texas Oliphants...we appreciate you:)!
Would like to include pictures in this blog, but seem to have too many and not sure how to accomplish it...perhaps with Steve’s help I will figure it out:). Someday. Love to all:)!!!
