Thought I'd post an e-mail from Christine...here it is:
Well, the hard part of the day is over... I think. Becca opened your card this morning and loved it. Its now in with her saved cards with her baby book. Melissa got hers out from you last year because she really likes it as well. We sent all 5 carved pumpkins (for a school contest), cupcakes for Becca's class and blueberry muffins for a bake sale and piano books (for lessons after school) with John and Michael this morning! I did help Chris work cows - and managed to not poke myself with a needle or get my hand smashed checking ears for implants. So that was good. Got home in time to shower before the bus arrived. The girls played outside for half an hour, then came in for cake (brownie bits really - bought them last month on clearance for a tea party) and presents. We served it all with the tea set the girls have and Becca used the cup and saucer she got from Judy in Oregon. Played games, including pin the bow on the cat (will send you a pic - its a pretty funny cat I drew this morning) and a wild version of kitten, kitten, cat (think duck duck goose) with Michael's help. We then strung candy necklaces and thankfully ran out of time and parents really did arrive on time (early actually - a first for me). I actually managed to start the crockpot this morning so we even have dinner ready - but no Chris until late. By Monday most of the fall cows should be here and life won't be so crazy for Chris. One group we worked today got here at 2am this morning. My new dishwasher actually cleans the dishes - yea. But to save energy doesn't have a heated dry. I didn't worry too much about it as we rarely used that feature on our old one but I do have to say the dishes are wetter when done - annoying but workable. I don't want to exchange it with the work and distance involved but probably should have paid more for the one that did dry (about $200 more). And Ammon just told me he plans on inviting 7 friends for his slumber party next Friday and we are supposed to take them all to Taekwondo with us that night as well. Suddenly Becca's party is seeming really easy. I'd put more of a limit on it but Chris wants him to have friend time before his surgery...so wish me luck (or at least energy and sanity). My throat is somewhat better but I hope it keeps getting better because its not 100% yet. Love you! Christine
Note: she sent pictures later...but I don't remember how to get them on the blog, so if you would like to see them I can e-mail them to you:)!!! (Mom)
