Sunday Notes - October 23

Another week...Dad finally (yesterday) took his last load of branches from the orchard to the dump. Those everlastingly green branches that refused to burn only took at least 10 to 12 trips to the dump and a week's worth of loading & unloading them. Lots of good exercise:). He is very glad to have it done. We also covered up our strawberries and tomatoes so that maybe we will still have strawberries and tomatoes at Christmas:)! (We succeeded at that once before.) There is a freeze warning for tomorrow night, so I am hoping we can cover a few more plants to keep them safe for a while longer. By the way...Thank you so very much to Christi, Rachel, Ammon, Melissa and Becca... without their efforts while they were here to help me there would have been NO strawberries OR tomatoes! Oh yes, we actually ate a cantaloupe this morning... and there is one small one still out there that may be edible too... how about that!

Still very busy with the YSAs; lost one set of advisers (Daniel and Bethany Lander) because they are expecting a baby any moment and so far haven't had any success in finding replacements. Will also lose about 6 of our currently active YSAs over the next couple of months... some to missions, some to school, some just moving. This is not an easy calling! But it probably is keeping us younger than we would be otherwise...wish I had a video of Dad out there playing dodgeball with the group last week!

If anyone would like to e-mail me their doings for the week I will happily post them on the blog - for all to see:). Sara & Patrick seem to be doing really well at their new location; I am going to pin her down on new address & any other changes we should know about - soon!

Love to everyone - we miss you!
