Hey everyone. :) Figured it was about time I posted something on here, so here goes.
I finally finished my cross-stitch! Now I just have to figure out how to straighten the thing. It's kind of disconcerting to see how wavy it is from being stretched this way and that. It's kind of weird to be done with it after having it around for almost a year. But, hey, now I can move on to bigger and better projects, right? Like the foam picture frames I'm trying to use to encourage my achievement girls to pass off their requirements. I think my example one ca
me out pretty cute, despite the random photo I used.
Oh yes, for anyone who doesn't know, Seth and I both have two callings now--we're joint sunday school teachers for valiant 11, then he's the 11 y.o. boys scout leader and I'm an achieve
ment day assistant for the 10-11 y.o girls. So we've got that age group pretty well covered, lol.

In other news, Joey finally got an upgrade, moving from his small plastic pot to a larger terra-cotta one. I think it'll probably be the last upgrade he gets though as I don't think I'll be able to move him around at all if he gets much larger. At the moment he's living on the fish tank stand in the living room that we're still waiting on refinishing. He seems to like it there but since that leaves us with the fish tank still sitting on the floor I don't think he'll stay there for too much longer. Hmm, speaking of fish . . . my little tank has finally stabilized. Morpheus (the betta) still lives although he started growing fungus which wasn't so great. Happily, the fungicide that we got last week seems to be working.

His tank buddy, Herman the snail, is doing well although every once in a while we'll find him curled up and wonder if he's alive but the next day he'll be back climbing up and down the walls and plants. Theoretically he was supposed to keep the algae down but he wasn't doing a very good job of it so we picked up a pleco on Saturday. I wish we'd taken some pics of the algae covered tank because it's amazing what that fish has done in two days. You can actually see into the tank again! Just kidding, it wasn't that bad . . . but not too far off either. Tentatively the pleco has been designated as a girl just to mix things up a little and given the name of Media, although I'm thinking she'll probably end up as Mia. :) That's about it for now, maybe next time I'll post the pics of my new crochet project. :D
Yea Charlotte:)! That represents a LOT of work! (Your cross stitch.) I have a book buried in one of the cabinets that tells you how to finish and frame those things... they are always stretched out of shape when you finish, but get straight quite easily. Maybe you could bring it when you come to visit? (Hint, hint!)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your life; we love you, Mom & Dad
OK the only pic we could see was the picture frame. The kids want to see JOEY! Any chance you can try again? Love you. Bullinger's
