Hello Family!
Sorry for the lack of comments and posts - Things have been busy here in Utah for us. (We are still checking in on the blog often though, even when we don't comment. So keep writing! :) )
Update on us:
As Mom mentioned in a previous post, Steve, Mary and I were able to go to the Dave Ramsey Live seminar. It was very much like his book, Total Money Makeover, which Steve and I had read awhile ago, but it was a great event. He is an excellent speaker and kept us interested - even though we knew the information already! It was a great reminder and motivation to keep pushing forward with our goals. Thanks Mom & Dad for the tickets. It was well worth it.
Steve has been working especially hard the last month. School is almost out for the summer, which means things will slow down for him greatly. But things are going well. He recently signed up to play on an indoor soccer team with a couple friends from church. He had his first game last week and although we have been going to the gym to get back into shape, he left with a skinned knee and very sore muscles. :) The other team didn't show up, so they scrimmaged against themselves. But I guess that's still a win, right?! Go team, go!
I have been to a couple teacher training days at my elementary school and have a couple more scheduled for this week and next. I am excited to get started in setting up and planning for next year. All of my teacher friends have currently been counting down 'til the end of the school year - I have been counting down 'til next year starts! I'm sure that excitement will fade once I get started and I will be very much ready for breaks as the other teachers are. It is amazing how much work goes into managing and educating a class. :) I have seen my classroom, which is making it easier to plan how I want it set up and "decorate". I'm trying to do as much as I can now, so that I don't have an overload of things to do right before school starts. I think I will be nervous enough. :) I am ending work the second week of July, so I will have about month to really get things done without any distractions. I think I will need all the time I can get!
Yesterday, for Memorial Day, Steve and I spent time with another couple in our ward over at their family's house. We grilled hamburgers, played ping pong, went to the canyon and hiked a very short way to a waterfall, and went to see a movie that evening. It was a wonderfully relaxing weekend.
Well, I think that gets you all up to speed! Hope all is well. Miss you!
