Patrick took Payton and Abby and went to Idaho to visit some family members. They left of Thursday and will be back on Monday. Patrick's brother Brian is competing in an Ironman competition. It sounds like torture to me, but everyone has a different definition of fun. It has been nice to have some time to work on projects that are hard to do with the kids - like working on the computer, or blogging...
It has been raining, and raining, and raining. Our hay has been down for weeks and we can't even get it dry enough to bale so that we can throw it away. We are really in need of some hay and I'm not sure yet where we are going to get some. It is a good thing we have a lot of pasture.
Abby got her ears pierced last week. She has been asking for almost a year. She was only two years old when she looked up at me one day and said, in a panic stricken voice, "Mom. I don't have holes in my ears!." So last week (on a shopping trip to Wal-Mart) I finally gave it. She picked out the earrings and sat down in the chair with a big smile on her face. Her smile looked a little forced for just a second when they did her ears, but she could hardly contain her excitement to show off her new earrings. She introduced herself to a stranger in the produce department, "Hi, I'm Abby. I've got earrings!" That was her standard introduction for a few days.
I think Payton has finally given up on crawling for good. She is a very active little girl and much braver than her sister was at her age. She loves climbing up and standing on the back of the couch and then throwing herself onto the cusions, "swimming" in the tub, going down slides, riding horses (and the dog), etc.
Love you all, have a great week!
Having a fun weekend? Sounds like it. Sorry about your hay. We can't even get ours cut because its so wet - which is driving Chris nuts but better than already having it cut I suppose. Good to hear from you though. Christine
