Washington update

Had some pretty exciting days out here this last week. Seth's legs blistered AMAZINGLY. Like, they looked kind of pebbly because they were so blistered. That was fun. And then once it started to peel . . . well, it wasn't pretty. Seth appeared to have fun being able to pull sheets of skin off his legs but it kinda just weirded me out. Happily, that's all over and his legs are finally normal again. Yay!

In less disgusting news, we broke into a house the other day. :) Well, didn't actually 'break' into it, just slid a window open since it wasn't locked. It was a foreclosure that we already knew had some problems but after seeing the inside of the house it's been deleted from the list of possibilities. How does anyone think that mint green sinks, tubs, and toilets are a good idea? How about black and neon striped carpet with pastel pink and purple paint? So many things that just don't make sense! We still think that it could be a neat house if someone had the time and money to completely redo the inside, but oh well. It did have a gorgeous view though . . . :P

Oh! And I now have a horse to ride! I met a lady with a barn a little south of us who was looking for someone to ride her horse, Joey. I've gone out twice so far and think this could work out nicely. (Although it's also pointed out how out of shape I am--ouch!) Joey doesn't seem quite as happy about this as I am, he's been a little reluctant about this whole work idea, but I think he'll adjust given more time.

Hmmm, what else? Oh, if anyone wants to give me some tips on crockpot usage I'd appreciate it. Seth's mom gave us a crockpot recipe book but so far most of what I've tried to cook has wound up kind of burned/dried out and we're beginning to wonder if maybe our crockpot's internal temperature gauge is messed up or something. I mean, I know I have a talent for messing up recipes but after trying multiple recipes and carefully following the directions it seems like at least a couple should have come out right. Even my track record isn't usually this bad, lol.

Think that about covers the high points for last week. Love you all! :)
