Washington Weekly #1

Where to begin? While visiting Mom and Dad last weekend I managed to complete a year long project . . . the cross-stitch is completed and thanks to Mom's amazing help it's even framed! And now hanging on our wall. :) Doesn't it look pretty? (and the answer to that is yes, yes it is.) While home, I also got the chance to ride Sid which was interesting. That western saddle we've got at home looks incredibly small and silly on him. Anyways, he behaved amazingly well and it looks like there just might be some hope for him as a trail horse.
Once I made it back to Washington, I got to wait at the station for about an hour because Seth's trek up Mt Rainier had taken a little longer than expected. And had some other unexpected happenings as well. Who would have guessed that snow and shorts on a sunny
day would result in these amazing burns? And this was at the pretty red stage, later on they turned kind of purplish. Made life a little interesting there for a while--our Sunday school kids found out about the burns and kept trying to poke them. Poor Seth. Happily the burns are doing much better now. Hmm. What else? We found a realtor that we like MUCH better than the last one and are having fun looking at houses. Oh, and Seth woke me up on Friday with, 'hey, my eye's bleeding' which was pretty exciting. (He'd gone water-tubing with his scouts on Thursday night and apparently crashed pretty good a few times. So, when he came home on Thursday night his eyes were so red he looked kind of possessed. Wish I'd taken a picture, lol) Anyways, it wasn't a big deal. Think he just broke so many blood vessels that the blood had pooled overnight so when he woke up it all started coming out. Kind of gross, but not bad. So basically, we're doing pretty good. :) Love you all!

  1. Sounds like SOMEBODY had better start taking better care of Seth!!! And... the cross stitch IS gorgeous... but I am afraid the picture doesn't begin to do it justice; one really has to see it in person! (And I am very glad I got to do that!) Mom O.
